Morissa Ladinsky, M.D., professor in the Division of Academic General Pediatrics, received the Lion Award from SOJOURN, (Southern Jewish Resource Network for Gender and Sexual Diversity), on March 30, 2024, in Atlanta, GA. 

SOJOURN is the premiere resource for Jewish and LGBTQ+ education, outreach and advocacy in the Southern U.S. As described in the program, the award was presented to: “to honor Birmingham’s very own Lion, Dr. Morissa Ladinsky. Through her daily work as a clinician and educator at UAB, she protects gender-diverse youth in our community. On top of this amazing work she has lobbied, testified and advocated to protect these youth from anti-transgender legislation.”
