Michele Kong, M.D., professor in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care, has received the Charles C. Shepard Science Award.
This award is presented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to the best manuscript on original research published by a CDC or Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) scientist in a reputable, peer-reviewed journal. This award recognizes excellence in scientific achievement by CDC and ATSDR authors of outstanding scientific papers.
“It is a tremendous honor for our team to receive the Charles C. Shepard Science Award from the CDC for Scientific Excellence, specifically for the work surrounding initial therapies and outcome in Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C).
