David Kimberlin, M.D., professor in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, was awarded the 2021 Wallace Alexander Clyde Distinguished Service Award from the Alabama Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

The Wallace Clyde award was initiated in 1984 by the UAB Department of Pediatrics and Children’s to recognize outstanding physicians who have devoted a lifetime of service to children and their families; recipients are chosen by a select committee of leaders in the field of pediatrics.

Dr. Kimberlin was honored for his work in pediatric infectious disease research and patient care.
