Andrea Kane, M.D., assistant professor in the division of Neonatology, received a 2023 Inspiration Award from the American Medical Association (AMA) Women Physicians Section.

The Inspiration Award is given to physicians who have mentored and supported fellow physicians throughout their career.

“I’m honored to receive the Inspiration Award,” said Dr. Kane. “I am the neonatologist I am now in large part because of the mentors and teachers who have inspired me. I am lucky that I can now help guide others as they develop into the pediatricians and neonatologists they aspire to be.”

Dr. Kane was nominated by neonatology fellow, Kylee Miller, M.D. “I have learned so much from Dr. Kane’s interactions with families, commitment to education, and thoughtfulness in patient care, and I hope to be able to teach, support, and encourage others in the same way in the future,” wrote Dr. Miller.
