David Askenazi, M.D., professor in the Division of Pediatric Nephrology, has been selected to serve on the International Pediatric Nephrology Association Special Projects Subcommittee AKI and 0by25 for a three-year term.
The goal of the 0by25 initiative is to eliminate preventable deaths from Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) around the world by 2025. This is a global initiative that will focus heavily on developing countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America with disadvantaged populations and poor access to care. The committee will work to establish strategies that can be applied on a global scale that allow for timely diagnosis and treatment of AKI for patients with potentially reversible diseases.
