Caroline Densmore, M.D.
Caroline Densmore, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Academic General Pediatrics, earned her medical degree from the Heersink School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Densmore completed her pediatric residency at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA where she served as chief resident. Her major clinical interests are graduate and undergraduate medical education, newborn medicine, and patient/family education.
Chinenye Dike, M.D.
Chinenye Dike, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, earned her medical degree from Abia State University Faculty of Medicine in Nigeria. Dr. Dike completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ and her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. Prior to joining the Department of Pediatrics she was on faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology. Her clinical interests include: Pancreatitis, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and nutrition and her major research interests include: Nutritional deficiencies, gut dysbiosis and pain outcomes in sickle cell disease
Emily Dodenhoff, M.D.
Emily Dodenhoff, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care, earned her medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, FL. Dr. Dodenhoff completed her pediatric residency at the University of South Carolina in Greenville, SC. She complted her pediatric critical care fellowship and palliative care fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, AL. Her research interests include the diagnosis and management of ICU delirium. She is also interested in in improving family and medical team communication strategies, providing inclusive care for children who are neuro-divergent, and caring for children who are chronically critically ill.
Claire Keith, M.D.
Claire Keith, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, earned her medical degree from the Heersink School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Keith completed her pediatric residency and fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and Nutrition at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her clinical interests include: obesity medicine, constipation, abdominal pain, and reflux.
Jordan Lim, M.D.
Jordan Lim, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, earned her medical degree from the Heersink School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Lim completed her pediatric residency at Louisiana State University – New Orleans in New Orleans, LA, where she served as chief resident. She completed her pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Prior to joining the Department of Pediatrics, she was on faculty at Louisiana State University Department of Pediatrics in New Orleans, LA. Her clinical interests include newborn medicine, supporting the mother infant dyad through inpatient hospitalization, patient communication and mentorship.
Adria Luk, M.D.
Adria Luk, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Academic General Pediatrics, earned her medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Dr. Luk completed her pediatric residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, AL. Her interests include: primary care and medical education for both students and residents.
Leen Matalka, M.D.
Leen Matalka, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, earned her medical degree from the Heersink School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Matalka completed her pediatric residency and fellowship in endocrinology and diabetes at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, AL. Her clinical interests include: general pediatric endocrinology and diabetes.
Abigail Martin, M.D.
Abigail Martin, M.D., instructor in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, earned her medical degree from the Heersink School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Martin completed her pediatric residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her clinical interests include: asthma management in the emergency setting and pediatric infectious diseases.
Emily Nolte, M.D.
Emily Nolte, M.D., clinical instructor in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, earned her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL. Dr. Nolte completed her pediatric residency at the Comer Children’s Hospital at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL and a Master of Public Health in General Epidemiology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Prior to medical school, she worked as Project Coordinator at The Columbia Center for Children's Environmental Health in New York City. Her clinical interests/major research interests include: the impact of environmental pollutants on child development and resident education in pediatric obesity.
Lauren Robinson, M.D.
Lauren Robinson, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, earned her medical degree and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. She completed her pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. She is currently working on a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.Her clinical interests/major research interests include: trainee leadership development and community pediatric readiness.
Nick Rockwell, M.D.
Nick Rockwell, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care, earned his medical degree from the Heersink School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Rockwell completed his pediatric residency and his pediatric critical care fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, AL. His academic interests are in simulation based medical education with special interests in medical student education and utilizing simulation based education in novel areas.
James Statler, M.D.
James Statler, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten. Dr. Statler completed his pediatric residency at Mercer University in Macon, GA. He completed his pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, AL and his emergency clinical ultrasound fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. His clinical interests/major research interests include: use of point of care ultrasound.

Dr. Webb completed her pediatric residency at the University of South Carolina – Greenville in Greenville, SC. She completed her pediatric critical care fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, AL. Her clinical interests/major research include: health disparities and the impact of social determinants of health on critical illness.
