Helena Gutierrez, M.D.
Helena Gutierrez, M.D., Assistant Professor in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, earned her medical degree from the St. George’s University in St. George’s, Grenada Dr. Gutierrez completed her pediatric residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She completed her pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and completed a pediatric transplant hepatology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles in Los Angeles, CA. Her clinical and research interests include liver transplant, acute liver failure, autoimmune hepatitis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Erin Shaughnessy, M.D., MPH, DTMH
Erin Shaughnessy, M.D., MPH, DTMH, Associate Professor in Pediatric Hospital Medicine, earned her medical degree from Duke University in Durham, NC. Dr. Shaughnessy completed her pediatric residency at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH and received a Master of Science in Healthcare Management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, MA. She joins the department as the new division director for the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Her clinical interests include Evidence-based medicine, general pediatrics, family-centered care, surgical co-management and her research interests include Systems improvement, patient safety, evidence-based practice.
