The UAB Department of Pediatrics is pleased to announce that Aman Wadhwa, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology has been selected by the American Society of Hematology (ASH) to participate in the 2021 ASH Clinical Research Training Institute (CRTI).
CRTI is a year-long program that offers a broad education on clinical research methods, research collaborations, statistical analysis, and managing the demands of family and career. The goal of the program is to produce leaders armed with ideas for clinical hematology research and the tools and resources to make their ideas a reality.
This year’s program includes virtual programming beginning in August 2021, an in-person meeting at the 2021 ASH Annual Meeting in December, a week-long workshop in February 2022, a one-day class in May 2022 at ASH Headquarters in Washington, DC, and networking and mentorship through distance learning throughout the year.
"I am excited to be selected for this year’s cohort as this will allow me to improve upon my understanding of clinical research and build connections with leaders in the field of hematology," said Dr. Wadhwa.
“Trainees will emerge from CRTI armed with supportive peer networks, mentors, and extensive training, putting them on the fast track for exciting careers in clinical research,” said 2021 ASH President Martin S. Tallman, M.D., of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. “We look forward to seeing the rich contributions to the field these talented early-career hematologists will make in the years to come.”
