The Alexander Lab received the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Impact Award from the Birmingham chapter for their work on neuromuscular diseases.
The award was presented at the annual MDA Toast to Life gala on Thursday, Oct. 19.
“This award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the many trainees, fellows, physicians, students, and technicians that have come through my lab in the past few years,” said Matthew Alexander, Ph.D., associate professor in the Division of Pediatric Neurology. “We all share the common goals of finding new treatments and understanding these rare neuromuscular diseases to better help children and their families living with these devastating disorders."
