The Department of Dermatology is hosting a one-day research expo showcasing advances in basic science, translational, and clinical research.
This poster expo aims to promote scientific exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration among investigators, clinicians, research staff, trainees, and students whose research intersects skin pathobiology and skin disease. Topics will include skin pathobiology, dermatologic diseases, and skin disorders with systemic comorbidites.
The expo will take place from 12:00pm - 3:30pm on September 21st, 2026 at the UAB National Alumni House.
EVENT TIMELINE:
12:00pm: Expo opens to public.
12:30pm: Guest speaker Dr. John Mountz* presents while lunch is served.
1:15pm: Poster presentations.
3:15pm: Winners announced and awards presented.
*Dr. John Mountz is a professor and clinician at the UAB Medicine division of Immunology and Rheumatology. He will present, "Lupus, Immunology, and Autoimmunity: From Disease Mechanisms to Targeted Therapies" where he will discuss how the use of tapinarof connects immunology, rheumatology, and dermatology research.
