You will learn theories on child development, developmental reading, primary math methods, teaching pedagogy, social emotional development, classroom management, and other concepts and skills that are critical for your success as an early childhood caregiver and classroom teacher. And you will learn it all from instructors who are nationally renowned in their fields.
- 6 out of the last 9 Alabama Teachers of the Year are alumni of the UAB School of Education and Human Sciences.
- Learning to teach diverse populations is paramount to our work. During your time at the UAB School of Education and Human Sciences, you will have teaching field experiences in urban, suburban, and rural environments.
- Students have the opportunity to conduct research and present at the Office of Undergraduate Research Expo.
