In addition to annual trainings, such as our Community Engagement Institute and Bioethics Forum, the CCTS OGC is working with Southern Commonweal members and our Training Academy on three new learning opportunities to strengthen community engagement activities and projects across our region (AL, LA, MS):
- an online curriculum that will provide a common knowledge base and language concerning research, the ability to identify and apply resources to address health disparities, and tips for building sustainable collaborations between community and academic partners.
- a community engagement mini-sabbatical, a three-to-five-day experience that will offer fellows, faculty, or community partners the opportunity to explore nascent or proposed community engagement activities and projects at other CCTS Partner Network institutions.
- a Community Engagement Simulation Module to enable hands-on experiences with the complexities and importance of community engaged research for academic and community partners.
-
