Artificial intelligence together with the need to manage the enormous volume, velocity, and variety of data around us is critical to interacting with our information-based society. Our AI and data science research focuses on intelligent processing and making sense of such data. We work on artificial intelligence and its applications, machine learning, scalability, parallel computing, grid computing, cloud computing, data mining, text mining, information fusion, data visualization, and big data analytics for forensics, cybercrime, cyberbullying, and biomedical applications.
We collaborate on these projects with Justice Sciences, School of Medicine, and others in the UAB community. The research in this cluster is funded by agencies including NSF opens a new website and NIH opens a new website.
