What is a Post-Baccalaureate Student?
If you are applying or re-applying to UAB and already have a baccalaureate degree from either UAB or another institution then you are considered a post-baccalaureate student. Post-baccalaureate students are listed as either degree seeking or non-degree seeking.Degree Seeking Post-Baccalaureate Students
If you have a baccalaureate degree and wish to seek a second baccalaureate degree you should apply as a degree seeking student. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 in all college coursework attempted.If your admission status is inaccurate or you need to apply or reapply, please visit the Office of Undergraduate Admission website.
Non-Degree Seeking Post-Baccalaureate Students
If you have a baccalaureate degree and wish to (1) meet prerequisites for graduate programs or (2) satisfy requirements for professional certification, you should apply or be listed as a non-degree seeking student. Applicants must submit an official transcript from the college or university from which the baccalaureate degree was earned.If you want to register for a class with specific prerequisites, know that there may be registration holds on these classes. If you are trying to register for a class and cannot due to a pre-requisite hold, contact One-Stop Student Services. Some classes may require clearance from the specific department or school.
