The UAB Solar House is available to reserve for anyone employed by or attending UAB.
The Solar House can comfortably seat 10-15 people. If your group is larger, we may be able to make accommodations – especially with our outdoor seating.
Features:
- Fully equipped kitchen space with tableware, oven, stove, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer
- A main living room/dining room space with a couch and table
- Smart TV for presentations, music, slideshows, movies, etc.
- Jack-and-Jill style bathroom with two toilets/sinks
- A large front porch space as well as large outdoor (grass) surface area
- Beautiful gardens surrounding the Solar House
- Individual climate control in each room
- Comfortable and cozy space; perfect for small to medium meetings, retreats, and student organization gatherings

Reusable Tableware
UAB Sustainability understands that some areas of campus do not have dishwashers but supports the use of reusable tableware. Organizations on campus can borrow our plates/tableware to use at their event. Once brought back to the Solar House the dishes will be cleaned by our dishwasher.
If interested, please fill out the form on the Reserve Space page and schedule pickup/return times, and we will have your order ready at the Solar House. Currently, we have:- 32 cups
- 30 sets of silverware (forks, spoons, knives)
- ~95 large plates
- 21 small plates
