Membership of the Staff Council is automatic for all employees meeting the following criteria:

  1. Exempt and non-exempt UAB staff employees (excluding faculty)
  2. With regular full-time (01), temporary full-time (02), part-time regular (03), or irregular (04) status
  3. Whose HR organization reports to, or is included, in the following:
    • Advancement Office
    • Athletics Department
    • Collat School Of Business
    • College of Arts and Sciences
    • Facilities Division
    • Graduate School
    • Heersink School of Medicine
    • Honors College
    • Marketing and Communications
    • Libraries
    • Office of The Provost
    • Office of VP Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
    • Office of Senior VP for Finance & Administration
    • Office of VP Information Technology
    • Office of VP Student Affairs
    • Office of VP Research
    • School of Dentistry
    • School of Education and Human Sciences
    • School of Engineering
    • School of Health Professions
    • School of Nursing
    • School of Optometry
    • School of Public Health

All University Staff meeting the criteria above are directly represented by the Staff Council. Other staff members, including those in the Hospital, are also encouraged to provide feedback to the Staff Council.
