In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month this October, UAB Human Resources’ AWARE Disability Management Program is providing opportunities for employees to learn how to recognize and engage with individuals with disabilities at UAB.

Disability etiquette training

In this virtual training 10 a.m. Oct. 20, representatives from the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services will discuss the preferred manner of interacting with individuals with disabilities; participation is interactive, so audio and visual capabilities are recommended.

Weekly educational videos

During October, AWARE will share videos weekly from the What Can You Do? Campaign for Disability Employment that explore employment issues experienced by and the workplace contributions of persons with disabilities. Visit uab.edu/aware each week
