Always wanted to try mindfulness meditation but not sure where to start?
Join University Recreation’s spring mindfulness series to learn how to begin practicing mindfulness strategies to reduce stress and improve mental health.
The 12-week program will guide participants through the seven universal chakras inside the body, each of which hold energy blockages. Once unblocked through a series of specific body movements and breath work, participants can achieve more mental clarity and balance at home, at work and in their personal lives.
Classes will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays Jan. 25-April 14; registration is $35 for UAB employees, and URec members get $5 off. The Jan. 25 class is a no-cost demonstration session.
