Volunteers needed for UAB's prison lecture series

Volunteers willing to speak on any subject that would appeal to a general audience — from Expressionist art and medieval pilgrimage to advances in robotics and Antarctic biology — are encouraged to contribute to UAB's prison lecture series. Lectures are held 6-8 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month from September through May in the Donaldson Correctional Facility, a maximum security men's prison.

Also needed are one or two people willing to coordinate speakers. If you would be interested in participating either as a lecturer or as the lecture series coordinator, email to Professor Alison Chapman at achapman@uab.edu. Chapman has been coordinating the lecture series for the past six years and taught monthly literature classes there.
