Each year, UAB and UAB Medicine employees donate hundreds of bikes and thousands of toys during the holidays in partnership with the Salvation Army and the U.S. Marines' Toys for Tots campaign.

In 2025, their generosity overflowed again.

At the annual Salvation Army toy pickup and celebration in the West Pavilion atrium on Dec. 3, 313 bikes — the most ever — and hundreds of toys were collected. See a slideshow of the event below (photos by Ian Logue for UAB Marketing and Communications).

For the past three decades, the UAB Toy Drive has collected new, unwrapped toys for children in need throughout the Birmingham metro area. This year, more than 1,300 toys and books were donated, another new record, culminating in a pickup celebration on Dec. 11 at Cudworth Hall.
