The two types of mammograms in this study are:
• 3D tomosynthesis mammography, which you are already scheduled for.
• Contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM), an additional imaging method.
Both screening options are available at our mammography clinic. Researchers want to determine which method is better at detecting breast cancer early in women with dense breast tissue.
What to Expect if You Participate:
• You will receive both 3D tomosynthesis and CESM mammograms at the start of the study and again one year later.
• Each visit may take up to 3 hours.
• The CESM mammogram is at no charge, while the 3D tomosynthesis mammogram is billed to your insurance.
• We will also collect information from your routine screening mammogram two years after you enter the study.
If you have any questions or are interested in participating, please let us know!
