With fall semester set to begin Aug. 24 and more staff and faculty returning to campus daily, UAB Facilities and University Relations have been working during the past several weeks to install important messages about masking, social distancing and traffic flow inside and outside buildings across campus. These university-provided signs have been installed across campus common areas, including entrances, lobbies, stairwells, hallways and in some outdoor areas.
Schools and units have been hard at work as well, posting one-way signs in stairwells, moving furniture and making other changes to ensure safe social-distancing.
Check out the social media posts below to see how the School of Health Professions, Collat School of Business and School of Nursing have revamped their spaces.
Is your space ready? A wealth of resources are available on the new UAB United site, including:
- downloadable, print-ready safety and directional signs in English and Spanish (these can be edited to add unit-specific details with a Lucidpress account),
- best practices for self-installing signs, and
- information on how to order customized signs (wall clings, posters, retractable banners and more) from UAB Printing and Mailing Services and off-campus vendors.
Things are looking different here at Collat.

As we get closer to the fall semester, we're changing things up to allow for social distancing and safety. As a Blazer family, it's important for all of us to follow directions so we can enjoy our fall semester together. #UABUnited pic.twitter.com/A1tBCrG3KX
