The world is more connected than ever, and our programs reflect that reality. Whether equipping educators to prepare the next generation of health professionals, empowering communities through health education, supporting humanitarian and disaster relief efforts, or caring for patients affected by diseases acquired abroad, our programs are united by a shared commitment to improving health and well-being both close to home and around the world.
The UAB School of Nursing has developed the Global Health Action Framework, after adopting the following definition for global health:
“An area for practice, teaching, research, or service that transcends boundaries with the intent of improving health, achieving equity and social justice for all people in support of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
