BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) EatRight Weight Management Program will offer its weight-control programs in a convenient suburban setting.
EatRight Hoover is located at 5330 Stadium Trace Parkway, Suite 350, in the Awtrey Building near Regions Park. A grand-opening celebration and ribbon-cutting event will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010.
EatRight combines diet, lifestyle changes and physical activity as the basis for permanent weight control. Created at UAB more than 30 years ago, EatRight uses a comprehensive approach to tailor individual weight-loss strategies delivered by physicians, trainers, psychologists and registered dietitians trained in weight-management for adults.
The new facility, which includes fitness equipment for personal training, will offer the full range of EatRight options, including EatRight for Life, EatRight Personal Fitness, EatRight Lifestyle and EatRight OPTIFAST.
The program stresses low-calorie, high-volume foods such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and the medically monitored weight-loss program also may include meal replacements using OPTIFAST products.
