BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Fourteen University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) students, staff members and campus organizations recently were honored for their commitment to leadership and community service at the annual UAB Student Excellence Awards Ceremony.
UAB STAFF
- Staff of Character Award: Creston Lynch, assistant director of student involvement and diversity programs, UAB Office of Student Involvement
- Faculty of Character Award: UAB Assistant Professor Anjanetta Foster M.D., assistant dean of diversity and multicultural affairs, UAB School of Medicine
- Adviser of the Year: Kristin Johnston Chapleau, undergraduate student counselor, UAB School of Business

- Outstanding Community Service Project: UAB Leadership and Service Council

- The 2010 Virginia D. Gauld National Alumni Society Endowed Scholarship: Alla Mahdi of Huntsville
The awards ceremony, sponsored by the UAB Office of Student Involvement and UAB Dining Services, was held April 15.
