The UAB School of Business has announced the addition of Jack L. Howard, Ph.D., to the Department of Management, Information Systems and Quantitative Methods faculty as a full professor.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB School of Business has announced the addition of Jack L. Howard, Ph.D., to the Department of Management, Information Systems and Quantitative Methods faculty as a full professor.

Howard will spearhead efforts to grow the School of Business curriculum by developing a Human Resources (HR) Management track for students in the B.S. in Management program. Howard's research interests include the influence of organizational politics on HR management, as well as legal, workplace violence and diversity effects on HR management. He comes to UAB from Illinois State University, bringing with him more than 17 years of research and instructional experience.

With his research published in more than 20 scholarly journals, including the San Diego Law Review and Academy of Management Review, Howard has received a teaching excellence award from Lamar University and outstanding research awards from Western Illinois and Illinois State universities. He also has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Central England and Chuo University in Japan. Howard received his doctorate from the School of Labor and Employment Relations at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
