UAB Homecoming: Results of Today’s Homecoming Gurney Derby

UAB held its 18th annual Homecoming Gurney Derby race at noon today, Oct. 15. Thirteen teams of two men and two women competed in five heats before the final race.

UAB held its 18th annual Homecoming Gurney Derby race at noon today, Oct. 15. Thirteen teams of two men and two women competed in five heats before the final race. The results are as follows:

First Place - School of Business - Team "Monkey Business" in 27.12

Second Place - School of Health Professions - Team "Gridiron Gang" in 29.09

Third Place - Blazer Hall (The residence hall) - Team "Blazin' Blazers" in 30.97

Other Winners:

The Dead Last Award - School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics - Team "The Fatty Acids"

Best Dressed Team - The UAB Benevolent Fund Team

Best Dressed "Passenger" - School of Health Professions- Team "Napsters"

*Gurney Derby passengers are mannequins, stuffed shirt and pants or stuffed toy animals.
