The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center (MHRC) along with the Bessemer Building Healthy Communities Coalition is co-sponsoring Bessemer Health and Wellness Day, Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dunbar Abrams Community Center, 2715 6th Avenue North in Bessemer.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center (MHRC) along with the Bessemer Building Healthy Communities Coalition is co-sponsoring Bessemer Health and Wellness Day, Saturday, June 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dunbar Abrams Community Center, 2715 6th Avenue North in Bessemer.

Participants can receive a number of health screenings free of charge, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, vision, body fat, sickle cell and HIV/AIDS and will be able to speak with health professionals about any concerns they may have about their health. There also will be food, fun and music.
