BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Sporting Clays Celebrity Shoot at Limestone Springs on April 5 raised more than $37,000 to supplement funding for a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine for screening and diagnosis of breast cancer at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with this enthusiastic community participation,” said Sandy Pillitteri, director of community affairs for the Cancer Center. The event’s title sponsors were Bill Harbert Construction Co., Russo Corp., and Sherman International.
In the Hall of Fame competition, first place winner was the Sherman Ready Mix team of Terry Brasher, Claude Wood, Tom Brown and Jackie Stevenson; second place, B & G Supply team of Rodney Usrey, Kenneth Thomas, Ivan Kimbel and David Thompson; and third place, Vulcan Materials team of Marty Odom, Marcia Andrews, Jimmy Andrews and Marty Colby.
In the Sportsman competition, first place winner was the Ready Mix USA team of Travis Owens, Tom Martin, Zach Stacy and Chris Bailey; second place, Ard Contracting team of Amery Mays, George Patterson, Tom Milldrum and Bruce Taylor; third place, Crane Works team of Rick Yates, Buddy Clark, Doug Brandon and Keith Hines.
In the Hunter competition, first place winner was the DMI Tile team of Terry Isaminger, Scotty Watts, Chris McGregor and Jim McGregor; second place, Kirkpatrick team of Bart Moore, Mike Roberts, Gary Studdard and Bob Reese; and third place, Compass Bank team of Alan Register, Andy Joiner, Derrick Tann and Chris Wilder.
Donnie Englebert of Hardy Corporation won the Beretta Pintail 12-gauge shotgun.
