BIRMINGHAM, AL — Terry Conkle, Ed.D., assistant professor of physical education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Education, recently was elected to the National Council for the Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE) board of directors.
NCACE is a not-for-profit organization comprised of individuals and organizations involved in coaching education at all levels of sport in the United States. The NCACE supports and facilitates the development of coaching education programs nationwide. The organization also reviews coaching education and certification programs that seek accreditation.
Conkle was elected to a three-year term on the 11-member board during the organization’s 2002 National Coaching Conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado, earlier this month. His term is effective through June 2005.
Conkle earned his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Alabama in 1985, his master’s and Ed.S., degrees from the University of Montevallo in 1991 and 1992 respectively and his doctoral degree from Auburn University in 1994. He has worked at UAB since 1999. Conkle lives in Helena.
