Mr. UAB — Jason Scott Fletcher, 22, of Foley, Alabama — Fletcher is a senior majoring in biology. He has received academic honors from the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society and the National Society of College Scholars. He has been active on campus as a member of the UAB Trail Blazers and the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. In addition to his campus activities, Fletcher has been a volunteer at Cooper Green Hospital and with other organizations. He is the son of Dr. Raymond and Hilda Fletcher.

Ms. UAB — Jessica Lemons [Pronounced Lemons, like the fruit], 21 of Gardendale, Alabama — Lemons is a senior majoring in biology. She is a recipient of the UAB National Alumni Society’s License to Learn Scholarship. In addition to her studies, Lemons is involved in several campus activities, including the UAB Undergraduate Student Government Association, the UAB Trail Blazers and the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She has been a resident assistant and was a recipient of the Resident Assistant Spirit Award. Lemons has also been a volunteer in the community through the UAB Leadership and Service Council. She is the daughter of Joseph and Nancy Lemons.

The winners of the Mr. & Ms. UAB competition will each receive a $1,500 scholarship from the UAB National Alumni Society. They will work closely with the Alumni Society’s board of directors as student representatives to raise awareness of the organization’s scholarship programs and events.
