WHAT: | UAB's School of Public Health will mark the end of its yearlong 25th anniversary celebration with the sealing of a time capsule including items that capture the essence of the school and the times. The capsule will be sealed for 25 years in a large, hollowed rock in the school's courtyard. Vulcan Materials donated the boulder to the school. | |

WHO: | Dr. Max Michael, dean of the UAB School of Public Health, will lead the ceremony. | |
MORE: | Other activities will include an open house, dedication of the Herman Lehman, Jr. classroom and recognition of public health scholarship recipients. Lehman, the school's first associate dean for academic affairs, retired from UAB in 1992 and died in 1995. Afterward, the Herman Lehman Memorial Fund was established to raise money for the classroom and a scholarship in his honor. The event is open to the public, and there is no cost to attend. |
