The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital Auxiliary has installed new officers for the next year. Dr. Virginia Horns Marsh is the new president, succeeding Frances (Bee) Morris.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital Auxiliary has installed new officers for the next year. Dr. Virginia Horns Marsh is the new president, succeeding Frances (Bee) Morris.

The installation ceremony took place June 9 at the Ireland Room of the Botanical Gardens.

Other new officers are Kathleen Tokonow, president-elect; Carolyn Washington, secretary; Maria Kearney, second vice-president; Lois Dempsey, third vice-president; Herb Uthlaut, Auxiliary treasurer; Homer Dean, gift shop treasurer; Dr. Marie O’Koren, Auxiliary Lodge treasurer; Kay Davidson, parliamentarian.

New committee chairs are Nancy Burns, art gallery; Dr. Susan Davis, Auxilian; Sally Stanley, book sales/gift shop; Myrna Swain, caring; Marie Lanham, bingo; Harriet Ingram, clowns/hospitality; Judy Lawson, surgery waiting room; Katherine Riddell, fundraising; Dean Welborn, intensive care waiting room; Dorothy Boyd, newborn intensive care; and Susan Frantz, videos/car seats for newborns.

Kay Allen is director of the Auxiliary. The volunteer group sustains several activities at UAB Hospital, including rental and furnishing of several apartments for long-term patients at the Auxiliary Lodge, part of the UAB Town House.
