BIRMINGHAM, AL — The University of Alabama School of Nursing at UAB ranks among the top graduate nursing schools in the country, according to “America’s Best Graduate Schools 2004,” published by U.S. News & World Report. Based on expert opinions gathered from administrators and faculty representing 354 schools of nursing, UAB’s master's in nursing program ranks 19th of 398 programs.
“Not surprising, but we’re thrilled,” says Rachel Z. Booth, Ph.D., dean of the School of Nursing at UAB. “Being recognized as a top-ranked program helps us to draw and retain top-notch students, something all nursing schools are struggling to do in the midst of the growing nursing shortage gripping the country.”
