WHAT:

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Education is collecting donated schools supplies for students of Enterprise High School, which was recently struck by a tornado. The campaign at UAB is called Education 4 Enterprise.

“We are targeting the high school because they are holding classes at a junior college and they don’t have lockers or folders to store supplies,” said UAB School of Education Assistant Professor Melanie L. Shores, Ph.D., who is spearheading the Education 4 Enterprise campaign. Enterprise school officials have asked for three-ring binders and backpacks that are appropriate for high school students, Shores said.

“These are the two things that they do not have and need now,” Shores said. All donations will be sent to the Enterprise City Schools Tornado Relief Fund.
