BIRMINGHAM, AL — University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) psychologist David C. Schwebel, Ph.D., has been invited to present a paper at the Summer 2005 session of the Oxford Round Table at St. Antony’s [cq] College in Oxford, England, July 24-29.
The Round Table, which first began in 1989, is a forum where individuals discuss important educational issues on the local and international level. Past Round Tables have hosted U.S. governors, senators, government ministers and representatives from the international education and business communities.
The results of the Round Table deliberations are published and made available to policymakers and academic libraries around the world. Schwebel will present a paper titled “Parenting and Children’s Health: Pediatric Injury as an Example.”
Schwebel is an assistant professor in the UAB Department of Psychology. His research interests include studying the factors that lead to injuries in children and teens, injury prevention and parent and child relationships. Schwebel directs the UAB Youth Safety Lab where researchers conduct laboratory-based studies on factors that lead to child and adolescent injuries.
