BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Nathaniel “Nate” Wade, a student counselor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Biology, recently was selected to receive an award from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA).
Wade, of Birmingham (Southside), received an Outstanding New Advisor Certificate of Merit in the Academic Advising Primary Role Category. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from UAB in 2002 and his master’s degree in counseling student services from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2004.
Wade and all award recipients will receive their awards at a special reception Oct. 18 during the annual NACADA Conference in Baltimore.
Established in 1983, the National Awards Program for Academic Advising honors individuals and institutions making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising.
