BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – David Scott, a mechanical engineering student from Birmingham (Oak Mountain), has been named Alabama’s Outstanding Undergraduate Student of the Year by the Alabama Society of Professional Engineers (ASPE). UAB students have received the award for the past six years.
Scott, who was UAB’s Outstanding Undergraduate Student of the Year for 2007, received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in May. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and Pi Tau Sigma mechanical engineering honor society.
