David B. Joseph, M.D., professor of surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and chief of Pediatric Urology at Children's of Alabama, has been elected trustee of The American Board of Urology. His six-year term began February 28.
Joseph specializes in pediatric urology, with a special interest in pediatric neurourology. He joined the faculty at UAB in 1986, becoming the Beverly P. Head Endowed Chair in Pediatric Urology at Children's of Alabama in 2010.
Joseph was nominated to the ABU by the American Urological Association, which is one of six urologic societies that nominate to the ABU and sponsor its activities. Founded in 1935, the ABU acts for the benefit of the public to ensure the high-quality, safe, efficient and ethical practice of urology by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists.
