Raymond Mohl, Ph.D., University of Alabama at Birmingham distinguished professor of history, has updated and expanded the book he co-wrote with Florida Atlantic University professor Mark Rose, Ph.D., “Interstate Highway Politics and Policy since 1939.” The book chronicles the history of interstates in this country. In this third edition, Mohl and Rose analyze urban freeway revolts in San Francisco, Baltimore, Memphis, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., and other cities. They also examine the passage of recent congressional legislation, specifically the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act. The book was published by the University of Tennessee Press.
Mohl also wrote “South of the South: Jewish Activists and the Civil Rights Movement in Miami, 1945-1960” and co-edited “The Making of Urban America, 3rd edition.”
