Adam Vines, assistant professor of English, will read from his collection of poetry 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, as part of the UAB Visiting Writers Series. The free, public event will take place in the Hulsey Recital Hall, 950 13th Street South.
Vines is editor of “Birmingham Poetry Review” and penned “The Coal Life,” an award-winning collection of poems about life among Alabama coal miners. His work has appeared in “Poetry,” “Post Road,” “Redivider,” “Tampa Review” and “Hunger Mountain.” He is also the recipient of an individual artist fellowship from the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
