Cynthia Ryan, Ph.D., associate professor of English in the UAB College of Arts and Sciences, has won a 2011 Clarion Award. Each year, The Association for Women in Communications presents these awards in honor of excellence in more than 100 categories across communications disciplines. Ryan was for awarded in the magazine feature article category for her story “Homeless with Cancer” that ran in the Fall 2010 issue of CR magazine.
