Kauffman Distinguished Early Career Research Award from the Division for Research from the Council for Exceptional Children.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized by such a tremendous organization as CEC-DR, a professional organization made up of giants in the field of special education research,” Ennis said.
The Martin J. Kauffman Distinguished Early Career Research Award is one of the most prestigious international awards in special education presented to early career faculty in the first 10 years of their academic career. The award recognizes the recipient’s commitment to rigorous, meaningful research along with a strong record of mentorship and service.
At this year’s Council for Exceptional Children conference, Ennis received both the Martin J. Kauffman Award and the Kirk Publication Award from the Division of Learning Disabilities for a publication she co-wrote with her late research partner, Mickey Losinski, Ph.D., of Kansas State University and her colleagues Ashley Shaw, Ed.D., of Pittsburg State University and Nicholas Gage, Ph.D., of WestEd.
CEC-DR is devoted to the advancement of research related to the education of individuals with disabilities. The goal of this organization is promoting equal partnership with practitioners in designing, conducting and interpreting research in special education.
