Amy Beard, MSN, R.N., NEA-BC, has joined Callahan Eye Hospital & Clinics at theBeard is a board-certified nurse executive with more than 24 years of extensive operational and clinical leadership experience. She has served at all leadership levels, most recently as the chief nursing officer of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center. Beard served as a board member and vice president of Alabama Maternity, Inc.; president of the Birmingham Region of Nurse Leaders; board member for March of Dimes of Greater Birmingham; and on Samford University’s School of Nursing Advisory Board.

Beard earned her Master of Science degree in nursing with a concentration in executive nursing administration from the University of South Alabama and her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Jacksonville State University. She is also a graduate of Momentum, an esteemed women’s leadership program.

Beard replaces Myra Aultman, who served as chief nursing officer for 10 years and recently retired.
