Cooper Green Mercy Health Services, an affiliate of the AuthorityUAB Health System, invites members of the Hispanic community to its summer fair, Salud hoy para Mañana Health, or Health Today for Tomorrow, for information regarding various medical issues and English as a second language services.
The fair will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, June 26, in the outpatient clinic, on the first floor of Cooper Green, 1515 Sixth Ave. South, Birmingham.
Visitors will receive health screenings for conditions such as A1C, diabetes education, BMI measurements, smoking cessation tips and a basic vision test. Information about pediatric health care providers and ESL classes will also be provided.
Representatives from Cahaba Valley Dental and the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama will attend the fair. Free parking is available.
Cooper Green Health Services is committed to providing high-quality health care to all residents of Jefferson County, regardless of ability to pay. If visitors would like to enroll on-site, please bring the following:
- Proof of income for the last three months or a tax statement
- Proof of Alabama residency for the last year and Jefferson County residency for the previous three months
- A valid ID or passport
- Health insurance (if currently enrolled in a plan — if not, it is fine)
