Shakima Knox and Steven D. Wilson have made the most of their time on campus: They met at UAB, married on Homecoming Saturday, earned their graduate degrees and will walk together on Saturday.
This event will has been postponed and will be rescheduled. The Viva Health Gala is UAB Visual and Performing Arts’ biggest fundraiser of the year, and proceeds from this elegant evening benefit its programs.
Approximately 1,577 students will graduate from UAB this fall, and an estimated 850 will participate in commencement ceremonies.
Senior art history students curated an exhibition at Project Space by artist Leanna Leithauser-Lesley, who celebrates the legacies of blues musicians and the history of needlepoint.
UAB is working collaboratively with nine other Alabama universities to assess food security among college students, and to ensure all students have access to affordable, nourishing food.
The newest mural, titled “Flourish,” was designed and painted by students and features a lush growth of green leaves, painted inside a pedestrian bridge over University Boulevard.
Started in 2001, this festive concert has welcomed thousands of young choral singers from schools throughout the Birmingham community to perform together with UAB choirs.
An all-female cast is rare in theater. Theatre UAB is featuring just that with “The Wolves,” and adding an all-women creative team, too.
This evening-length production is performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist and MC Kurtis Blow, one of hip-hop’s founding fathers.
Feed the hungry in the UAB community by giving to Blazers Against Hunger, a one-day crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the Blazer Kitchen food pantry.
