Nominate graduates from the University of Alabama at Birmingham between the ages of 22 and 35 now for the National Alumni Society Junior Alumni Board.
The membership of the NAS Junior Alumni Board includes up to 24 graduates, who represent a diverse cross section of graduates from the 12 schools on campus. Members are nominated through an open nomination process and must be selected and approved by the NAS Board of Directors. Each member that is selected will be asked to fulfill a one-year term that is renewable for up to five consecutive terms. Junior Alumni Board members are required to attend meetings in Birmingham on a regular basis.
Completed nominations for the 2017-2018 Junior Alumni Board must be submitted by 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 31. Nominate someone by submitting a form online.
Nominations must be accompanied by a short statement, 250 or fewer words, detailing the individual’s interest in serving the NAS and UAB in this capacity. Individuals selected to serve on the Junior Alumni Board will commence their one-year terms Oct. 1.
Members of the National Alumni Society Junior Alumni Board must have demonstrated leadership experience and have established a successful career path or be currently pursuing an advanced degree at UAB. The goals of this group are to support the mission of the UAB National Alumni Society by encouraging membership in the society and participating in the organization’s events and activities, to build a strong network of young alumni who will serve as future leaders of the organization and remain engaged with UAB as ambassadors for the society, and to advance the society through various fundraising initiatives that will maintain current scholarships and create new scholarship opportunities for UAB students.
