The Master of Science in biomedical and health sciences program at UAB will hold an informational open house Saturday, Nov. 7. The program aims to enhance prospective students’ value for admission into medical, dental, optometry, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy or other health science professional school.
The program is the only 11-month master’s program of its kind in the Southeast.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet faculty, staff and current students, and will learn about the program’s goals, curriculum, admissions requirements and matriculation timeline.
“The inaugural class of 24 students has been afforded the opportunity to learn from the same UAB faculty who teach in the medical school, dental school, optometry school and physician assistant program,” said program co-director Will Brooks. “Now, in what are still the early stages of the professional school interview season, our students have already interviewed for spots in medical school, dental school and physician assistant school.”
The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the School of Health Professions Building LRC. For more information, visit the official program website.
