University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) alumna Kristal Quarker has been named the national field director for African American Initiatives for the Republican National Committee. She will work alongside the director of African American Communications to listen to voter priorities and build a strategic plan to address the concerns of the African American community. Quarker received her bachelor of arts degree in political science from UAB in 2004 with a concentration in international relations.
Quarker has more than eight years of combined political and public policy experience. She served as professional staff for the House Foreign Affairs Committee, director of business outreach and communications for the House Republican Policy Committee and senior legislative advisor to Rep. Thaddeus McCotter.
In 2012, Loop21 and IMPACT DC named her one of the Top 40 Under 40 Most Influential People of Color on Capitol Hill.
