The University of Alabama at Birmingham will host a variety of summer camps this year. Presented by UAB departments and groups, the camps offer fun activities for children and easy and convenient choices for parents.

UAB CORD Camp
About: The UAB Center for Community OutReach Development will offer six summer science camps and institutes. Students will carry out inquiry-based experiments to learn about the principles of science that they will experience in the following year in school. Each camp and institute will run for five days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

UAB University Recreation Camp
About: Campers will be split into four different age groups and participate in a variety of recreational and learning activities, including swimming, climbing an indoor rock wall, arts and crafts, and playing different sports and games. During the time that Birmingham and UAB welcome The World Games, UAB University Recreation will move the URec Summer Camp from the Campus Recreation Center to Bartow Arena.

Camp CSI Birmingham 2022
About: On the first day of camp, students are divided into teams and given details of their first case. Each team will secure a scene, survey it, diagram it, take notes and collect evidence. After the students process the evidence, staff will reveal the true facts of the case by reconstructing what happened. On the last day of the camp, students will question the suspect. There will be a mock trial where members from each group will testify about their evidence as expert witnesses and play the role of prosecuting and defense attorneys.
